Throughout the year we collect items to be put into our auctions from consignors. The auctions happen three times a year and last about two weeks. During that two-week timeframe, users from all around the world can view the auction lots on our website and place bids. When the auction closes, the user who has the highest bid wins the item. The high bidder pays us, and we pay the consignor the amount of the high bid minus any applicable fees.
We are located in Silver Spring, Maryland. We accept consignments and bids from all over the world.
The seller’s commission depends on the value of the item – generally the greater the projected value, the lower percentage of the seller’s commission.
We get items from consignors in-person or through insured delivery from various shipping carriers.
Once the auction closes and we’ve received the payment from the high bidder, we send out payment to the consignor. On average, consignor payments occur approximately 30 days following the close of the auction.
The auction schedule is posted here.
Give us a call call at 301-608-0355 or fill out our contact form. Our experts are happy to evaluate your item and advise on its authenticity. We can also assist with the authentication and grading process using third-party companies, such as PSA, SGC, JSA, and others.
It depends. Grading can be very helpful for all involved as it confirms authenticity, locks in condition, and provides a more precise idea of value. Grading can be expensive, however, so it is best reserved for items where the expense adds value overall. If our experts determine that grading will help the auction value, we can help with the grading process. With that said, many cards and collections do not require grading to be auction worthy and collectible, and ungraded cards and collections perform well in our auction as we have a diverse group of collectors looking for cards of all types.
Our Auction Catalog is always available digitally to showcase the great items up for bid. If you prefer a hard copy, you may request one.
