Good things come to those who wait, and Mike Cubbage served many years in Major League Baseball, before receiving this 2008 Tampa Bay Rays American League Champions ring. Cubbage earned this ring as a scout for the Rays, a job he started in 2006, and held for nine years. This captivating ring is a size “10”, marked “14K” on the interior of the band, along with manager Joe Madden’s mantra “9 = 8”, for 9 players playing hard for nine innings, to earn a spot as one of the eight teams to make it to the postseason. Weighing in at 53.7 grams, the ring has tested positive for 14K gold content. The numerous diamonds filling up most of the real estate on the front, have been tested as G-H in color, and VS-2 in clarity. The face is enameled with the name “Rays” in blue, against the field of diamonds. Encircling the diamonds, is the legend “2008 American League Champions”. The right shank is covered with the name “Cubbage”, the logo “TB”, and the season record “97-65”. Seen on the left shank, are the legend “AL East Champs”, the American League logo, and banners that read “1st American League Pennant”. Accompanying is a jeweler’s LOA attesting to the authenticity of the gold and diamonds.
