On June 12, 1939, the eleven living members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame convened in Cooperstown, New York for the opening of the museum. While 20,000+ players (and counting) have suited up for a big league franchise, these forebearers who laid the foundation for the popularity of our national pastime presented a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity for early autograph hounds. This superb 1939 Hall of Fame Induction multi-signed baseball crossed paths with (8) immortals who were in attendance that summer day! These steel-tip fountain pen endorsements were carefully executed across the panels of the moderately toned artifact that is coated by an even layer of period protectant (very limited chipping throughout). Includes: Sweet Spot: Ruth (“6” d.1948); West Panel: Sisler (“5-6”, d.1973), Cobb (“6”, d.1961); East Panel: Speaker (“5” d.1958); North Panel: Wagner (“5-6”, d.1955), Mack (“6”, d.1956); South Panel: E. Collins (“4”, d.1951) and W. Johnson (“5”, d.1956). A praiseworthy national treasure that is missing only Alexander, Lajoie and Young for completion. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $5,000.
