The offered 1952 Topps Baseball #311 Mickey Mantle rookie card is one of the few cases in which a low-grade example will still garner considerable interest. Graded Poor 1 with a (mc) qualifier by PSA. This particular copy was obviously well admired by its original owner as the obverse displays a combination of acute wear. With Mantle earning the status as boyhood hero to millions, it is not difficult to conjure the wide-eyed amazement the youth had while handling his cardboard treasure. Despite the obvious lower grade, the prominent subject and set transcends all condition factors.
