An investment-quality orb is found with the offered Ty Cobb (d.1961) single-signed OAL Johnson baseball. The majestic script from the “Georgia “Peach” is penned on the north panel of the blue-and-red-stitched sphere with a black steel-tip fountain pen. The flowing 1-3/4” endorsement is not disrupted by uniform surface soiling and inconsequential canvas abrasions. The blue ball stampings are bold and have withstood the decades in remarkable condition. While a controversial and enigmatic figure in life, this impressive ball inscribed by Cobb’s weighty pen is beyond reproach.
